RSPCA Million Paws Walk, 2014

What a brilliant day was had by all on 18th May at Katoomba's Melrose Park. Dilshara and I took hundreds of photos of the day. We set up a 'pop-up' straw bale studio and dogs and their owners came up one after another to get their photo taken.

There were dogs of every shape and size:

Rescued dogs of course. Dogs with three legs, one eye

Dogs recovering from surgery

And dogs impersonating meerkats!
 Fluffy dogs
And sleek dogs
Smart dogs
And nervous dogs willing to please

Dogs of every kind!

Horsing Around

A couple of months ago we photographed Colin with his beautiful chestnut mare, Gemma.

The location was idyllic. While most properties were in drought and barely a blade of green grass to be seen, this irrigated paddock was home to a small herd of very happy horses.

Colin and Gemma have a strong bond and we hope their relationship is captured by these images

Of course even the most willing subjects will let you know when enough is enough!

And so it's time to head home....

Crop and Swap

Ever wondered about the Blue Mountains Crop & Swap?

I had such a great time on Saturday morning, getting involved in my local community at the Crop and Swap.

After we each got our little spot on the floor and filled it with our "crops", we got a chance to get to know each other over a cup of coffee and admire the produce and home made goodies.

There were beautifully arranged displays:

A variety of fruit and veges:

Garden fresh flowers and herbs:

Delicious crusty sour dough bread:

Free range eggs from backyard chooks:

Mouth watering cakes and pastries:

 And even worm juice:

Swapping began sharp on 10.30am

And we all came home with baskets of goodies, lovingly grown or made by a friendly neighbour. We also knew our own "crops" were in good hands and giving pleasure to someone else.

Crop and Swap is a local food swap for people who like to grow and make their own produce. It is held in Faulconbridge on the second Saturday of each month from October to April. To find and more and be involved have a look at their website:

Blue Mountains Lawson Dog Show

Before Christmas we had the privilege and joy of being the photographers for this dog show held in Lawson on the dog off-leash area. It rained from start to finish but no one seemed to care- least of all the dogs. There were smiles and wagging tails all round. We took so many beautiful photos. Here is just a selection:
